For those who did not attend the Project Concern/Choice reunion on July 26, 2008, you missed a wonderful event!
Many thanks to all who participated. There were many laughs and some tears. Overall a wonderful atmosphere of gratitude and appreciation for our distinct educational experience.
Many alumni expressed their thanks to the founder, Ms. Trudy Mero, who's passion for educating Hartford youth made her vision of this program a reality; to the paraprofessionals who's nuturing and motherly characteristics made our transition smooth, kept us safe, and helped us behave; to Mrs. Carroll-Kennedy for her tireless managment of the Program for over 35 years. She dedicated her life to educating Hartford youth and we became her children. She is now enjoying her retirement and marriage to Dr. James Kennedy.
Many who attended are excited about helping to plan the next reunion in 2-3 years and are determined to make sure ALL of you are there. In the mean time, please join the site and create a profile, so your classmates will know what you've been up to over the years. You can also join the Project Concern Alumni group on Facebook.
We will be planning a luncheon in the summer, so we can stay connected. Feel free to share feedback and suggestions on how we can make our association a viable organization. Thank you again to everyone who made our first Project Concern/Choice reunion a success! God bless.
Sincerely,
The Planning Committee
