Choices For My Child

Choices for my Child

The State in partnership with the City of Hartford, the CREC, and suburban districts in the Hartford region developed a series of school choice opportunities in order to meet the obligations of the Court and to provide high quality, accessible, reduced-isolation educational programming options to the children of Hartford and surrounding communities.

If you are a Connecticut resident and want to learn more about the educational choices available for your child(ren) in the Capital Region, including the Open Choice Program (formally Project Concern), visit the new Regional School Choice Office's website at www.choiceeducation.org or call (860) 757-6188 for more information.  The deadline for the common application was February 17, 2009.  The application process will begin again in November.

For those who've applied, the lottery will take place the end of March and  families will receive letters the middle of April.
